We really liked this house. It is very simple and quite old, but somehow we felt at home. It has everything we needed and more! The house has no TV, which we found to be a great advantage! The internet connection is quite slow, but enough for our purposes. Read the instruction in the Sol og Strand book on arrival. It says how to switch on electricity and warm water in the kitchen and in the bathroom. And do not forget to bring your own bed linen!
One drawback of the house is that there is not much light, even during the day, because of the tall trees. And there is not much room for putting clothes away in the smaller bedroom.
We enjoyed the morning sun in the garden. There were a squirrel and a woodpecker bird in the trees. And we saw small deer several times, passing by the house.
The house is very close to a very nice, quiet beach. There were hardly any people around. The sea water was cold but very clear, I went for a swim several times! The area is very quiet and beautiful: there is a beautiful forest with wild plums and berries.
Copenhagen is just some 50 km away. Køge is a nice town to visit. The castles of Vallø and Gjorslev are worth a visit (you cannot enter the castles themselves as they are private property, but you can walk in the parks). We spent a couple of days walking above the cliffs of Stevns Klint, a really nice experience! On the way back, a few km before the toll bridge to Fyn we visited a very interesting viking ring fortress and museum called Trelleborg (http://en.natmus.dk/museums/trelleborg/). It was free of charge and a lot of fun!
I would sincerely recommend this house to people who like nature, quiet and simple pleasures of life. And we might come back here again!
